This past Monday, my local pub here in derby, had quite the entertainment for everyone, from sumo wrestling, gladiator fighting to kareoke. Later that night, they also had fire walking, got a picture of the fire, but got to cold for the fire walking part.

On the way home, we saw this little pub and had to stop, the sign says "Batemans awards winning Ales" could not miss the chance. Dont look like much from the outside, but there was beautiful flowers outside and to our amazement, the place was packed with people having their Sunday dinner, we drank our pint standing up, not a seat available, the food looked really good but we were still far from home and decided on only the one pint.

Sunday my mate and I decided to head to the east cost, more precisely Skegness. The drive to and from was interesting, but once there was not really for my liking. More geared for kids and people stacked like sardines in caravan. Nice long beach but nothing like my favorite one in Sosua, the one between Sosua by the sea and Casa marina beach, reminded me more of something we have at home, the lake Erie beach.

Well its official now, Carol and I will meet at Heathrow airport on the 30th of September, fly out somewhere from Gatwick for a week the next day, she wants to keep it a surprise, comeback to Gatwick a week later, spend a few days somewhere, again a surprise then finally fly home on October 11th to Pearson International Airport, hop on Robert Q to Woodstock, then finally take the car home to Tillsonburg.

What an interesting 6 months, not sure if I would want to do that again without Carol, very tough being apart for that long, only seen her for a total of 13 days for the six month period, but sure was a nice experience.

Been very busy at work lately, we were preparing for the summer shutdown here at Toyota motor United Kingdom, TMUK as we call it. Started yesterday and so far it is going well, with a good plan, everything usually goes smoothly.

Two more weeks of babysitting them Brits and then will back off. Time to see if they can fly on their own, sink or swim. After that I will be counting the days to October first, that is when I am done here, starting to get boring around here. I have made great friends over here, and some will be life long friends but I do miss my Tillsonburg friends and especially Carol.

Carol and I will be going to Spain first for a week, for a well deserved vacation and then will be going back home finaly, to enjoy another two weeks of time off. October is already pretty booked, golf tournament on the 14th, best man at my best buddy's wedding on the 27th, shit, got to go get measured up for the tux, cant wait till I get back, will be to late, no worries, my best mate Mark is taking me today to do that. Speaking of Mark, never ever met a guy like that in my life, this guy is something else, would not know that by just looking at him, earrings in the ear and eyebrows, tattoos everywhere, but this bloke has an heart of gold. He is taking me everywhere, treating me like a brother. If we are at the pub together, he will not let me walk home by myself, and its just a 2 minutes walk, he will either walk me home or have 2 of his sons, Ben and Stu escort me home. Sometimes there is 4 or 5 walking me home. One night when Carol was here, they drove us home just to make sure we were safe. There will always be a strongbow in the fridge waiting for him, if he ever decide to come and visit me in Tillsonburg.

Anyway, this as been a great experience that I will never forget, but now I am ready to go home anytime, I will certainly miss this place and the crew at the pub, what a crew them boys are, from fat bastard also known as silent killer, Irish Mick, Paul, dodgy Dave to name a few, good laugh we had together, genuine good people that adopted me like one of their own, I will never forget what you guys did for me. Almost forgot Ray, this man went out of is way, to gather 5 sets of golf clubs so that myself, the owner of the company, the VP and the US general manager could go golf, he did not have to do that, we could of rented clubs but he would have none of that, what a gentlemen.

Yesterday, we went to Matlock, the drive there and back was fantastic, small villages, pubs and the view was awsome. For a change, there was no big motorway to get there, around an hour drive from Derby on small roads, this was finally the European experience we were looking for. Enjoy the pics below. Today, there is no definit plans yet, but I am sure the girls will find somewhere to go, maybe will go the opposite of Matlock on the A6 and perhaps discover more beautiful little villages.

Some of these pictures were taken at the London towers, this place was unbeleivable, lots to see. You will need at least 3 hours to see everything, from the crown jewels, yep, that where they are kept, we saw the biggest diamond in the world, 530 carats. Today were of to Matlock caves, of course I will post some pictures of that later. If you ever go to London, plan on at least 4 days, 2 days was just not enough for us. But we are kind of trying to see lots of England in just 10 days. I am here for 6 months but Carol on ly a 10 days visit, so we have to make the most of it.

Tips, dont go to Nottingham castle, waist of time. Places that I enjoyed and worth the time to drive, Althorp, London towers, London eye, Kedelson hall, the ss great britain was ok but, not worth the 2 hour drive from derby. Downtown Derby is quite nice, especially at nite on weekends. Got to get ready now for matlock, see ya later mates.

Today we went to Althorp, Carol and her friend Karen really wanted to go there. I was a little against that idea, but sure glad we went. Again, we could not take any pictures inside, that would defeat the purpose of them selling books with all of the inside pictures I guess. The inside was spectacular, even saw the one bedroom that Winston Churchill slept in. The entire place is full of beautiful paintings. The library was awsome, I tough they had to many books, but the one guy said that was nothing, there is only 1o thousand books now, there used to be 50 thousands. Most of the furnishing and painting was brought there before the war for safe keeping, as the Spencer house was a target during the war, and was actually hit during the war, so most of all those valuable things would of been destroyed, if one of the Spencer did not bring all of those for safe keeping. Aparently the current Earl still lives there from time to time. Good place to see if your ever in the area.

The wait is almost over, my honey Carol is coming over tomorrow, with a girlfriend of hers for 10 days. It will be a busy week but will get to see a lot of stuff. First thing on the agenda, will be the England match at the pub, you guys should see how crazy it gets here in England when there is a match, Carol already been to that pub on her earlier visit, but for Karen it will be a big eye opener. Sunday I am sure will be a rest day for them, after working all day today, then drive to Toronto, then the flight, then the pub, I will have two very tired lady's on my hands. Monday Karen wants to go see lady Diana's place, I guess she was a big fan. Tuesday were of to London for a couple of days, Thursday of to Warwick castle. Then Carol wants to bet on a few horse races. Saturday and Sunday I am not to sure, but I know they will find a place to go. Will have lots of pictures to post in the near future.

Wow this place was great, just 10 minutes outside Derby, unfortunatly, there was no pictures allowed inside, but it was great. Secret doors for the servant, so they can go anywhere inside without disturbing or been seen by the guest.

Carol finally arrived one hour late in manchester, lovey rainy day it was, the hour and a half drive from Derby went well. It certainly was a long day for Carol but like a trooper, she stayed up as long as she could. We got back in Derby at around 4 pm, went to the house for a bit and then headed to my local pub for some well deserved refreshments.

Monday was again a rainy day, decided to head out to the Eagle center for a bit of shopping with hope the the rain would stop. We were hoping to walkabout in downtown Derby and finally the rain stopped for a bit and we went outside. here is a few pics from downtown after the rain stopped.

I have discovered that rape seed, are very bad for my allergies. They are beautiful yellow flowers, they have feilds of them over here, great contrast with all the green. They also smell very good, they make some kind of oil with them. But they don't agree with my immune system, I was in such a bad shape that i could hardly swalow any liquid, let alone food. Never felt like that in my life.

My throat was so soar that I could not beleive that it was happening to me, never had any kind of hay fever before, but thankfully after a week of sunshine, wich is unusual here in the UK, it started raining again and, I finnaly started to feel better. Don't have a picture of those yellow fields yet, but I will.

Beside that work is going great, they are very happy with us, not to sure about status here, it seem very important to the UK people to show what kind of position they hold, one bar for regular team members, 2 bars for team leaders, thick bar for group leaders and one thicker bar, different colour for senior group leader. Management has to wear a shirt and tie, where I come from, you know who is your boss, no need for labels, bars and frickin stickers on your hard hat. Where I usually work, where they produce 1300 cars a day, even the plant manager wears jeans and no ties, everybody knows who the plant manager his, there is no need for banners and all that dog and pony show. But I guess where I come from, its not the uniform that makes you what you are, its what you do and how you handle things. The uniform don't make you a better person, enough about that.
And more importantly, 11 days till my love Carol shows up in Manchester, never tought I would miss her that much, and I think it is the same for her, boy I love this women. There mignt be a few sparks, when she gets here, but you guys will never ear that story.

One month over here already, time is flying fast and I enjoy every minute. Can't wait for May 21, Carol is coming to visit for four days, poor girl, she is going to be very tired. Hi all, this has been quite the intersting last few weeks, never mind the accent I have to put up with. The people of Derby are the friendly kind, very welcoming. Heathrow is a very busy airport and certainly quite hard just to get out of it. We rented two cars at the airport, one us us is staying one year and the other 2, myself and another one for 6 months. We needed the 2 cars so we could make are way towards Derby. Well, let me tell you about those runabouts, locals have gps and they live here, luckaly one of the Canadian with me purchassed one but that did not stop us from going around a runabout 4 times. We got an hotel the first night, as they keys for the house were not available till Monday, wow, small rooms let me tell you, thank god we each had a room. Next day we proceded to the dealership to pick up ours cars, then pick up they keys for the "posh" houses we rented, locals calls them posh because they are fairly new. The cost I was told for the house that we rented is 250.000 pounds to by, that is almost 600.000 Canadians, unbeleiveable. There is no closet, none, were do the locals hang their coats, let alone mop bucket and a vacuum. Here a few pictures for now, I have a lot already but will keep posting new ones everyday from now on since I finally got the internet.

Carol lost a good friend last week, Bob was a regular at the Copper Mug where Carol works, is knowledge of music was phenomenal. Yesterday was his day, a celebration of is life by his friends and I have personaly never seen anything like that. What is normaly a teary event, when people gather to pay their final respect, was something totaly unexpected. I have never laugh that hard in my life, I have nerver listen to him on the radio and in retrospect, I should of. This man was hilarious, how do I know that now you may ask, well they played some of is best moments on the radio, using taped, in church. The entire celebration lasted one hour and a half and it could of went a few more. Bob's love for food was legendary, it was said that some of the chef at some of the all you can eat buffet, would come out of the kitchen to have their picture taken with bob. If you google is name, you can find out more about Bob's career.

BOB HUMENICK
On Sunday, March 19, 2006, while at home recovering from surgery Bob Humenick, better known to his EASY 101 evening listeners as Bob Evans, and to his Country 1510 morning listeners as the character, Chet Martin, peacefully passed away. Bob was in his 58th year and was predeceased by his parents and sister leaving him with no immediate family but whose friendship was cherished by his many friends and listeners. He will be especially missed by his two best friends, Mark Dailey of Toronto and Brandon Davies of Tillsonburg. Brandon and Bob both shared a love of trains and enjoyed their yearly trek to the St. Thomas Railway Days. Brandon and his sisters, Alicia and Melane, will miss their regular excursions with Bob to go out to eat and take in a movie or go bowling. Bob became a part of the Davies family, and his love and generosity will be greatly missed. A Celebration of Bob’s life will be held Sunday, March 26th at 2:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 47 Washington Grand, in Tillsonburg, officiated by Darwin Davies. In honour of Bob and his love of broadcasting a Bursary Fund is being established for a deserving Fanshawe College student in the Broadcasting program. Donations (payable by cheque) to the “Fanshawe College Humenick Award” may be made at the VERHOEVE FUNERAL HOME, 262 Broadway, Tillsonburg, or at the time of the Celebration service on Sunday. Interment will take place at a later date at Bethel Cemetery.

So I decided to go for a little drive to the beach, 30 kilometers from Tillsonburg, took a few dirt roads, I like taking my time to go somewhere and explore different ways to get somewhere. The beach was covered with seaguls, took a few pictures and one with the amazing zoom that came with the new camera.

Just found out this morning, that I will be leaving to England on April 2, wow it seem so far away yet so close. I also found out that I have to get, an international driver's licence and I was told, that you can get those at any local CAA offices for $12.00 canadian. Can't wait to get my arse over there. Carol is almost as exited as I am. Time to start packing, and of course the golf clubs are coming with me, it would be a shame not to play a few rounds here and there.

Here is a few pics of some of Tillsonburgs infamous landmarks, one is the Royal Tavern, the only place in town with Stripers, actually, there is only one, and it is the same one all week, she performs twice a day, once for the lunch crowd and one when the factory workers are done their shift at around 4 pm.

The other one was called the Big I, short for the Imperial tavern, where the low life of Tillsonburg went for a drink, and some actually lived there. There was a few rooms upstair for around $80.00 per week, with shared bathrooms and showers. Not a nice place to bring a girl on a fisrt date. The owner retired and sold the place, the new owner wants to turn it into offices.

Went on a little drive today, just minutes from my house. These are menonite horse drawn buggy. They do not use cars or hydro for their houses. Mostly farmers, again using old fashion ways to cultivate and harvest.

Big news, I will be going to England for 3 to 6 months. The company I work for, just got awarded a contract at the Toyota plant in Derby England.
Team Industrial They approched me a few months back, and were asking if I would be intersted to go and, my response was that I would need more details but, I would certainly entertain any offers. Time past, went on vacation and just last week, they finaly got awarded the contract. I had alreday talked to Carol about this great opportunity and the possibility that they will ask me to go. Carol told me to it could be a very good chance for advancement, let alone a chance to see Europe.
After a meeting this past Tuesday, I was ready with some demands of my own, but decided to hear what they had to say first. Well, after they were done talking, I had nothing to demand, they offered all that I had in mind plus more. Then they asked me, go see Carol, they know her, and see what her feelings are about me going, I said it is already done and I am going. How could I refuse such an opportunity.

3 bedroom apparment, furnished with everything one might need, of course internet and a new laptop, need to communicate with Carol, a new car while I am there, more money for expenses that I could dreamed of, and the last week I am there, they will fly Carol and they will foot the bill for where ever we want to go in Europe.

Carol is so exited, she has already started to plan where we are going to go on that week. PLus she will come also on a couple of long weekends to visit. British open here I come. One of my passions is golf, what a better place to go see a tournament, the birthplace of golf.

A great camera will be a must, to capture my life while I am there, the things I see, the people I meet. It is a chance of a lifetime for me, and will visit as much of Europe as I can.

Driving will get some use to, Carol said just stay drunk and you wont have a problem driving on the other side of the road lol. The departure date is around the end of March and I am looking forward to this opportunity, and I will keep you posted and try to blog regularly with amazing pictures.

Did not have much to blog this week, the weather was just like winter this week, imagine that. Well it got so bad on Wednesday that, had to stay in Brampton Thursday morning, there was no point of driving all the way to Tillsonburg, and just turn around when I got there. Hundreds of flight were cancelled at Pearson airport on Thursday, I feel for those who were leaving on vacation that day.

Finaly drove home this morning, it was very windy but it looked good for a while, well, at some point there was no visibility whatsoever, total whiteout. Then I was getting close to home and it all came to an abrut stop. 20 minutes later, it was a transport tuck that was getting towed out of the ditch. Got home, little bit to eat and then bed, this was around 10 am. At 11 am, one of the kid came and told me that there was a phone call for me, not to happy but I got up, it was the school calling, telling me that Connor was marked absent from school. Well, I said I knew that, you guys cancelled the school buses due to the weather, are you not aware of that? that is why he is not in school, but thanks for waking me up. Went back to bed, took a while to fall asleep again, and before I knew it, it was 4 pm and time to get back up.

One more day of this and, that's right, Sunday is comming fast.

This will probably be my last post till I return from Sosua, I will have lots of pictures when I return, till then, Hasta pronto.

It turns out that the laptop is pooched, someone told me it is a virus, not to sure about that, I have system works from Symantec and never had a problem. Will leave it to the expert when I come back, right now I have no time to mess around with it. I have set up the desktop downstairs with all the stuff I need, borrowed Microsoft Office 2003 form my work and loaded the sucker in it. I like the microsoft outlook for my work e-mail, I can receive and send e-mail from my work, right in the comfort of my home. The other e-mail ( msn ) is just for anything else but work. It works for me.

Carol is already packed, and she was done yesterday, one week ahead of time. I have not even started yet. We are all exited about next week. It turns out, that the owner of checkpoint, was a school buddy of Carol, we were just looking at some picture of Sosua, and she said, that guy looks familiar, after further research, it turns out to be true, she even as a school yearbook with both pictures, his and hers, how cool is that. What a small world we live in, you just never know who you will run into.

Well, it crashed again, this morning after work I decided that I had enough. Did not want to but I did, the recovery disk came out, all seven of them. Of course this mean that I lost everything that Carol and I had. 3 hours later it seem to have worked, but it was noon already and I had to leave the house at 5 pm, it was time to go to bed. So I wont know for sure until the morning after work, to really do a good test drive on it, to make sure it is fixed.

If fixed, then I will have to re-install a buch of stuff, and some of it I am not to sure where the disks went. If it did not work, well I guess I will have to send it to the Doctor, and I know desktop are somewhat easy to fix, laptop I don't know if they are fixable, will see I guess in the morning.

In the mean time, I can't stop thinking about Sunday the 19th, man, I can't wait to go back to Sosua.

Trip tickets have arrived, thank you nice mail lady. It sure make it nicer when we have this crap weather. Now what to do? hide them, just in case the neibours come over and steal them? that is a story all by itself, the famous neibours. We had several things disappear from our house in the last couple of years, booze, beers, x-box games, food just to name a few. Actually, there was also a few garden tools also, in witch Carol had no knowledge of, till the next year, when they suddenly re-appeared, this time it was not the neibours, it was Connor that just happen to remember he took them, to help one of his friend dad, of course he never volunteered to do any work around here. Anyway, back on to the neibours story, one day something was again missing, asked Connor if he knew where or who took this missing something, can't exactly remember what it was, as there is to many of them, and out of nowhere came this story, in his words "I checked with the neibours across the street, and they saw someone leaving the house", ya right.

For him to come up with a story that quick, was almost impressive, for him to conduct a survey around the neibourhood to see if they saw who stole that thing, meant that he knew it went missing, and only a person looking for that particular thing would know its not there anymore, a guess liars are quick these days.

Since then, when something goes missing, we always blame the neibours, to save the kid a trip down the road, and conduct another one of his surveys he he. I hope he is not that stupid and believe that we believe him.

Got scared yesterday

Can you imagine, came home yesterday morning after work, and Carol says, there is something wrong with the laptop. Sat down and took a look, nothing, nothing was working and it was making the noise from hell. After a while, Decided to get the recovery disk out but it was not doing anything but the grinding noise. Well I gave up after trying everything my little brain knows, and went to be. Got up at 4 pm and gave it another try, for a moment, there was a glimpse of hope, turned on the laptop, signed in and windows was loading like normal, no grinding sounds, wtf,I said to myself so far so good. After dancing in the streets for a moment, that grinding sound came back and the party was over, turned it off and forgot about it.

This morning, I gave it another try, just like yesterday it was fine at the start, but no dancing yet, that thing tricked me yesterday in believing it was fine at the start. Well it almost gave me an orgasm this morning, it kept on working, and working and now eight hours later it still is working properly, ran the virus scan, no virus found, so far so good. I guess sometimes, there is things that happens that you can't explain, and that was one of them. I was not looking forward of going downstairs and use the desktop, I enjoy my laptop right on the kitchen table with my morning coffee and sport news on TV, thank you very much.

Thirteen days from now, I wont care much about the laptop, we will bein Sosua drinking Presidente beers, bien fria, not sure about the spelling but anyhow, the laptop will be the last thing on my mind. I found a place that Carol will be able to have her ceasar's, how great is that, once in a while, she loves to have one in the morning, well now we know where to go, its called checkpoint and owned by a couple from Vancouver I believe, it will sure be fun.

WINTER: No shadow likely on Groundhog Day

The Tillsonburg News — Tomorrow morning the province, and a part of eastern North America, will be watching when Wiarton Willie is dragged out of his hole to tell us what the next six weeks of weather will bring.
While the small mammalian prognosticator is usually deep in hibernation and facing snow on his day of fame, the harsh winter of Januarys past just isn’t here this year. That doesn’t mean we haven’t seen any winter. The first 21 days of December were colder than normal, with more snow than usual.
“Then, on the first day of winter, winter was gone,” said David Phillips, senior climatologist with Environment Canada.
Instead of the usual one or two warm days seen in January, the entire month has been warm. And it’s not just in Ontario. Phillips said the entire country is experiencing warmer temperatures.
Looking at London climate data, Phillips said the average London temperature for January was 0? Celsius. In addition to being the longest January thaw ever, the month set a record high average temperature. The previous warmest month was a tie between January 1950 and January 2002, both of which had an average temperature of -1.3? C.
On the precipitation side, only 12 centimetres of snow was recorded for London as compared to 52.6 centimetres in a normal January. That doesn’t mean January was a dry month, though. The month saw 72 millimetres of rain as of Monday.
“It’s not dry at all,” Phillips said. “It’s April in January.”
Phillips said the change isn’t due to global warming or El Nino, but simply an absence of cold air. The Arctic air that’s usually over Canada is over Europe.
“It’s giving them misery and one of the worst winters in history,” Phillips said of European conditions this year. “Hundreds are dying in the streets and we’re sitting here in halter tops and muscle shirts drinking beer on the patio.”
While Canadians are saving 20 to 25 per cent on their heating bills, Phillips said winter sport enthusiasts aren’t too happy. Sandra DeSerranno of Rotten Ronnie’s Hook and Hammer on Long Point reported there was no ice on the bay, or even channels, as of Monday. Diehard anglers who couldn’t get any ice fishing last week headed out in a boat. One boat came back in with 60 fish.
The next few days are expected to see daytime highs passing the freezing mark. Phillips said Environment Canada’s forecast for February is normal to warmer than normal.
As for Willy, the forecast for Thursday was for cloudy, meaning no shadow and an early spring. So if the groundhog is right, the January that wasn’t will become the winter that wasn’t.

Monday mornings rant

I feel like I lost a day somewhere, ever since I started working nights a few weeks ago, can't seems to sleep enought. Well yesterday, I came home around 9 am, had a few pops, tried to stay up for a while but around 3pm went for a little nap. 6:30 am Monday morning I woke up. I was up since Saturday afteroon 4 pm, I guess I am not that young anymore.

I have been working days for ever, but the big boss at head office decided to save $65,000.00 per year out of a 8 million dollar contract and laid off one of the supervisor that was working night shift, so I have been moved to nights. So now the big boss has saved himself less then one percent, laid off one guy with a mortgage, wife and kids, manage to piss me off, change my life around, see Carol maybe 5 minutes between Wednesday and Sunday.

Now on Monday's, I try to go back to normal, meaning up during the day and sleep at night, but when comes Wednesday, get up in the morning, try to have a nap, like its possible and then off to work at 5 pm, and don't return home till 9 am the next day.
No wonder I slept 15 frikin hours. But like the big boss would say "at the end of the day" I am still employed.

Maybe when we go to Sosua, I'll just stay there and become a white sanky, become an high class male escort for those fat tourist that can't get laid in their own countries, now me make a joke about that. But it sure sounds like fun.

The trip has been booked

Done deal, Casa Marina Beach Club will never be the same, me make a joke. Last night we decided on Sosua for a multitude of reasons and we are very happy to return. As a bonus, we found a direct flight from London Ontario, just 40 minutes from us, that is great. No two hour drive to Toronto. We are looking forward to sit on that patio and enjoy some tasty Presidente beers. we will be arriving on the 19th of February around 11 pm, witch is a little different but,we know where to go for a few drinks and, the last day we don't fly back till around midnight so, we will be able to enjoy our last day to the fullest and grab a nap on the plane comming back. If we are lucky, we might run into a few Dr1 members. I know I will be hiting a few spots, like Eddy's sport bar and maybe hit taco Tuesday's to name a few. I wont get to meet the famous Escott as he will be in Florida, but who knows, one of Escott friend Badpiece was planning to go on the same week so, perhaps will run into him.

Last night, we spent more time looking at various locations, destinations with various web sites. It came down to Cuba and the Dominican Republic. Then we compared what the 2 resort we picked had to offer. One was in the middle of nowhere, and the other one was where we are familiar, right smack in Sosua. For those who don't know, Sosua in on the north coast of the Dominican Republic and depends on who you asked, it could be seen as a touristy town, great place or hooker heaven. We see it as a great little town, and the sense of familiarity makes us feel good about our choice. Sure I would like to see the rest of the world, but also for sure I am glad to go back again. The fact that we can go eat outside the resort, have a drink, go to the corner store, witch are called colmado, or just walk anywhere we feel like, is wonderful. We are not confined to the resort, don't need to take a motoconcho or guagua, hope the spelling is right, all this increase the pleasure of the trip. Anyway, the clock is tickin meant that Carol wont last to many days before booking, I knew that 2 weeks ago when she said, let's go last minute, ya right, I think she was ready to book last night, but maybe in all of her wisdom, she could be right. It might not be where we want to go and, I think she's absolutely right.

Bullshit, that’s what I say, if you guys are too sensitive, don’t read. Here is my beef today; we are looking to book a trip, looked at every fricking site you can think of, they are all pretty much in the same ball park, as far as price are concern. Now, here is the fucking scam, one tour operator that should remain nameless, ya right, Sunwing.ca, is advertising “ we pay the taxes” if you book by such a date, fucking ripoff for those un-aware sankie victims wannabe. The scam is, trying to coerce un-educated poor people that save all year for one bleep bleep “vacation in the sun”. For those educated people, we look at all the sites, and then you find out, there is no “we pay the fucking taxes” they just inflate there normal price and voila. You can book the same trip at another site, say for $800.00 per person plus taxes, so far so good, now if you book the same resort, same departure date with Sunwing.ca, did I say Sunwing.ca, there price is $1,075.00 per person including taxes. Where is the cock sucking deal there? They are trying to use an old salesman trick, but not on this guy. Sunwing.ca, can lick my white hairy ass, I will never do business with a supposed to be respectable company, that is trying to lure poor bastard of all there vacation money, or at least the supposed to be taxes saving. And they are the same company that ripped us last time.

We booked a day trip, to go whale watching in Samana on such a day, after that we booked a trip at the waterfalls with Mel’s tours, local guy offering day trip at half the price the “Sunwing rep” was offering, needles to say, the whale tour was canceled to another date, not by us, by the sunwing guy, we found out when we went to our room at the wee hours that the trip was cancelled. So the next day, we wanted to cancel the whale trip, because it was now conflicting with the waterfall trip, nope, no cancellation was to happen, not even after I pleaded with the rep. It was them that cancelled, not us, he said, you go when I said or there is no refund. After a few Catholic words in French, I told him a little bit of what I thought of him, needless to say, either we were going on his terms, or we were out of $200.00 US. Since we had no choices, we went to see Mel’s tour and explain our predicament, well, was I ever surprised, there was no bullshit, no we cant change your day trip, he said no problems, you do your whale tour, and we do your waterfall tour when its convenient to you, no money up-front like the sunwing rep, he said; you don’t pay a pesos until you come back and if you are not satisfied, you don’t pay me at all. How can you go wrong with that. We enjoyed are trip to the falls, that was totally amazing and something all tourist should do at least once in there lives, how can you go wrong, 25.00US for an entire day, booze and lunch included. Lesson learn, don’t trust those rep’s, don’t even go to there orientation bull crap, they will only rip you off.

Yes indeed, the annual Copper Mug x-mas party. That is where Carol works and they are way to busy to close in December, so they have a party for the staff and there spouses in January.It will be a blast I am sure, can you imagine, a private party in a Pub where you have access to all the drinks you want, I better write my name on a tag or something, just in case I forget who I am at 6 am Monday morning. I should post some pictures of it, sometime Monday if I remember whereI live.
